My beauty secret: Lemon juice and chamomile for brighter and lighter hair color! If you have brown hair it makes them have blonder highlights, if you have a darker brown hair color like mine, it gives them a bronze glow. It works for me!

My secret: never leave the house with a little bit of mascara and blush, it does wonders! And I "brush" my lips everyday with a toothbrush, so that they get a little bit fuller and a light red colour, so that it looks like you are wearing lipstick.

What a fab giveaway ladies. I'm gonna just say it... my best beauty secret is having great SEX! and Sleep. There are many health benefits to having great sex and one of them is better sleep.. better sleep = better overall health and BEAUTY! You'll feel fresh and alive and your skin will too. I also have to say lots of H2O is great for the skin. I know we all love make up, but I think you need to start from the inside out to promote healthy and beautiful skin. :) Oh and one more thing.. NEVER go to bed with your make up still on. Okay, I guess that was 4 beauty secrets.. ha ha.

my most precious make up tip is to use only the sun powder, blush and eyelash curlerer (and maybe even a very very light lipstick or moisturizing cream powder for your lips), but for softer skin, you should put cucumber slices on your face. And sugar+honey mask for face is really helpful also.

I'm not sure if this really counts as a beauty secret but I swear by sticking to all things minimal!! I adore natural looking make-up and try to use as little unnecessary products on my hair (i.e. hairspray, foam, gel,...) as possible, less really is more :)

When I dont have the time for a pedicure but want soft heels and soles I take two palstic bags, put one on each foot, then put a sock on over the plastic bag. You can do this while you do chores around the house or during your sleep, when you take them off, your feet will be nice and smooth which is perfect for summer time when all you wear is flip flops!

ReplyDeleteMy secret weapon is eye drops. Using them before your eye makeup makes for an instantly brighter eye and your makeup will pop that much more. Also, on zits to take away redness before concealer!

Two of my great beauty products (that may seem odd but TOTALLY work) are Milk and Aquaphor.
ReplyDeleteI use milk in a mini spray bottle or a small dish and a damp cloth when I have a bad sunburn on my face. It calms down the red tremendously and really soothes my face.
I use aquaphor for dryness on my face or my chapped lips but I also use it under my eyelids at night (a beauty secret stolen from Beyonce). It's a great product, so versatile, and totally cheap.

I fully believe a glowing face is a beautiful face, so when i use bronzer i not only put it on my cheek bones but i also run it down the bridge of my nose, under the arch of my eye brows and at the top of my lips. This gives definition to your features as well as a healthy glow :)

Oh and after 9 years in Japan my number ONE tip, especially for Australians, is to keep out of the sun, or use a sun umbrella... yes you will get laughed at but you will be beautiful and wrinkle-free when your detractors look like old leather handbags!!

ReplyDeleteLove your blog! My beauty secret is that I don't use any products on my skin! Instead, at the end of my shower I wash my face with hot water three times. I think the hot water almost sterilises your skin and cleans the dirt away. It makes my skin feel fresh and has worked alot better than any cleanser or exfoliant I have ever tried!

my most precious beauty secret is a weird one, but it works wonders.. well when painting your nails, leave a small empty line on either side of the nail (so the polish only covers the middle) this gives the illusion that your nails are longer and your hands are thinner, try it, it works! haha

don't try to be someone you're not. wear what flatters you. not what you see in magazines or what your friends wear. keep it simple and play up your good features, eg eyes and lips if you love them. do it in the right order - moisturiser then foundation, eyeliner then mascara.

I have a couple - First - for your hair - moroccan hair oil - this stuff is honestly amazing! It cuts down blow drying by up to repairs dry and split ends and leaves your hair moisturised, nourished and silky smooth.
ReplyDelete2. For my face - my most indispensable beauty secret is to use a good pair of eyelash curlers - my eyelashes look 1000X longer and thicker when I do - it really opens up your eyes. I recommend the Shu Uemura eyelash curler it really is the best - but the secret to it is to heat the rubber on the curler under your hairdryer for 5 - 10 seconds - this is like using a hot curler on your hair but is actually much, much better than the 'heated curlers' you can buy - it really makes the curl last. To make sure the curl hold's all day and night I use a waterproof mascara (the best I've found is Diorshow) as I find most normal mascara's don't hold the curl as well and often weigh it down, making your eyelashes go flat again.
And finally for the face another beauty must is MAC primer - unlike moisturiser which can make your makeup slide off if you sweat (which is not hard in Australia you just need to go outside), this primer helps to hold on your make-up in place, making it last all day and night long..another 'all day make-up' secret which I learnt from a makeup artist which is a little weird but does work is to spray a little bit of hairspray over your face when you have done all your makeup and it makes it stay fast!!
